5 Tips to Help Reduce the Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids

5 Tips to Help Reduce the Symptoms of Uterine Fibroids

Hey, Jubies!
We know the statistics; according to the ‘American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, by age 50, 80% of African American women and 70% of Caucasian women will have developed uterine fibroids.’ Therefore either you or someone you know will be touched by this illness.
But no one should endure this on their own. We know that modern medicine has come a long way, but many of us would prefer not to pump ourselves with treatment whose side effects can be equal to or even worse than this illness. Several natural remedies may help with the symptoms of fibroids, and while these remedies are not a substitute for medical treatment, they may help soothe you and reduce the symptoms.

BeJubie Tips

  • Remember to never underestimate the power of your diet: A healthy diet rich in fruits, whole grains, and vegetables may help reduce some of the symptoms associated with fibroids. In addition, reducing your intake of processed foods, alcohol, caffeine, and red meat may also be beneficial as these foods cause inflammation which the fibroids will feed on.
  • Get Active: Regular exercise can help manage uterine fibroids in many ways. First, exercise can help reduce estrogen levels in the body, which can help slow fibroids’ growth. Then there is blood circulation, which can reduce inflammation and help alleviate symptoms such as heavy bleeding and cramping. Remember, inflammation isn’t your friend whether or not you have fibroids.
  • Obesity and being overweight may cause a higher risk of having uterine fibroids, so a good workout plan to help maintain a healthy weight can go a long way. While exercise can be beneficial for managing fibroids, it may not necessarily shrink or eliminate them.
  • Get to the root of it: Cannabis contains cannabinoids that interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS). As defined by Medical News Today, your ECS is a biological system in the body that helps regulate and balance key bodily functions.  CBD is a cannabinoid that provides pain relief, naturally.  Finding the right dose that works with your body may help to alleviate cramping, debilitating pain, and provide relaxation.  We recommend our CBD+CBG vaginal suppository for targeted pain relief associated with fibroids.
  • A little Acupuncture: Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicinal practice that helps stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Admittedly there is limited research on the effects of acupuncture on uterine fibroids, but some women may find it helpful in managing their symptoms.
  • Acupuncture may help uterine fibroids by promoting circulation to the affected area, reducing inflammation, and relaxing tense muscles. Some women may also find that acupuncture helps alleviate pain and heavy bleeding.
  • Castor oil isn’t only for hair growth: Some women may find that castor oil packs can help alleviate symptoms such as pain and discomfort. This involves applying a cloth soaked in warm castor oil to the lower abdomen. You can then cover the pack with a heating pad or go old school with plastic wrap, and this is said to relieve pain and heavy bleeding.
  • Research on this practice’s direct impact on uterine fibroids is limited, but some women find them helpful in reducing inflammation and promoting relaxation, which can help alleviate the symptoms.
